Ruth

Ruth was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She spent her childhood surrounded by a variety of animals, including dogs, hamsters, hedgehogs, hermit crabs, and fish.

However, she was also fascinated by the weather, which led her to pursue a degree in meteorology at Saint Louis University. After finishing school, she worked in a non-profit resale shop for several years, but wanted to pursue a career that she was more passionate about. In December 2013, she and her husband, Mike, adopted their first dog together, and, after that, she realized that she was meant to work with animals. She started volunteering at the Humane Society of Missouri and, after moving to Boulder in late 2014, continued her volunteer work at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. With a fresh start in Colorado, she was finally able to pursue her passion of a career helping animals. In December 2017, she completed the veterinary technology program at the Community College of Denver and is excited to start her career as a veterinary technician!

When she’s not working, Ruth spends her time hiking, practicing yoga, taking long walks with her Beagle mix, Ellie, volunteering, and exploring all the amazing things Colorado has to offer. She is enjoying being part of the Alpine Hospital for Animals team and is looking forward to getting to know and work with our wonderful clients and patients!
