Dr. Elizabeth Houston grew up in New England where she attended the University of Connecticut and earned a Bachelor of Science in Pathobiology.

She worked as a technician at a mixed animal practice and fell in love with helping animals of all sizes. She obtained her DVM at Iowa State University and completed a Master of Science in Veterinary Preventive Medicine.Following vet school, she completed a residency at Colorado State University in Comparative Medicine, providing wellness, surgical, and emergency care to a wide variety of species. At CSU, Dr. Houston concentrated on new pain relief therapies, disease treatments, and teaching veterinary students. She moved to Minnesota to join Medtronic as a Senior Veterinarian, contributing to preventive health and clinical care while supporting medical device innovation. Dr. Houston is excited to be back in Colorado!

Dr. Houston’s professional interests include preventive medicine, soft tissue surgery, pain management, low stress patient care, infectious diseases, and exotics. She enjoys staying current on the continuous advancement of medicine through new medical and wellness innovations.Outside of work, she enjoys doing anything and everything outdoors and can often be found running and hiking with her husband, Derek, and cattle dog mix, Zazu. A home, she enjoys gardening with her chickens, reading with cats Ageisha and Hemingway, making music, and yoga.
